Adaptive Sports & Recreation Program

Minnesota Paralyzed Veterans of America (MNPVA) maintains an active adaptive sports and recreation program for its members.  We invite non-member veterans and others with disabilities to inquire about participating with us.  Our primary goal is to encourage activity and involvement, whether young or old, novice or experienced, newly injured or long-time wheelchair users.

Our sports and recreation program can provide physical and mental health benefits by keeping the members active.  Those facing life changes related to spinal cord injuries, disorders, and other disabilities also have a greater risk of social isolation and inactivity.  We provide programs to minimize this risk.  The support among the members and the camaraderie developed among the athletes and participants is priceless.

We offer adaptive trap shooting, bowling, archery, air rifle/pistol, boccia ball, scuba, and more.  Our Sports & Recreation Program is member interest-led, and we are always open to exploring new sports.  Additionally, we support members in competitions and participation in large-scale events such as the National Veterans Wheelchair Games, Summer and Winter Sports Clinic, and the Golden Age Games.  We also offer tickets for our members to attend major sporting events in the Twin Cities area.
