Adaptive Sports & Recreation

Fostering Resiliency

The Minnesota Paralyzed Veterans of America (MNPVA) believes that an active lifestyle is the foundation of physical and mental well-being. Our member-led Sports and Recreation Program is designed to challenge limits, build strength, and, most importantly, foster a "priceless" sense of camaraderie.

Whether you are young or old, a novice or an expert, newly injured or a long-time wheelchair user—there is a place for you here.

Engage with Us!

Facing life changes related to spinal cord injuries or disorders can increase the risk of social isolation. We provide a community that fights that risk through:

  • Physical & Mental Health: Programs designed to keep you moving and motivated.

  • Unrivaled Support: Connection with a network of veterans who understand your journey.

  • Inclusivity: We welcome MNPVA members, non-member veterans, and others with disabilities to inquire about participating. While some benefits and programs are member only, we do open some things to non members. Call us today to see if we are a good fit for your quest to be active.

Our Programs

Our program is interest-led. If our members want to try it, we want to make it happen. Current offerings include:

  • Precision & Skill: Adaptive Trap Shooting, Air Rifle & Pistol, Archery,

  • Team & Social: Bocce Ball, Bowling Leagues, Professional Sports Tickets

  • Adventure & Beyond: Scuba Diving, National Wheelchair Games, Winter & Summer Clinics

Looking for something else? We are always open to exploring new sports or investing in new adaptive equipment. If you have an activity in mind, let us know!

Compete on the National Stage

We don’t just play locally; we support our members in reaching their highest potential. MNPVA provides resources and support for members to participate in large-scale national events, including:

  • The National Veterans Wheelchair Games

  • The Golden Age Games

  • Summer and Winter Sports Clinics
